Why is it that some vampires have to hide their nature just to be liked by one person. i just cant see what the point is can anyone shed any light on this please!!!!!!!!!

why is it that so many people deny what they realy are just for one person it makes no sense what so ever. That person should like us for what and who we are not someone that we have to put on!!! :ph34r:

cause most people will try to adapt to a personality that will please somebody they are interested in...everyone does it....even the ones who are reading this going "I've never changed how or who I am just to make somebody else happy" your lying..you've done it before...you'll do it again....and after all if everyone jumped off a bridge...wouldn't you...I know I would...simply because there would be a mound of bodies to break my fall

Ive been changing the way I am unintentionaly for one person lately. It's pissing me off.

Cause some people lock you up if you dont hide youre real self.

Personally I think it is wrong to hide your true nature from one person, but to hide what we are from the world, that is understandable and necessary. We do not reveal ourselves to the world. Nor should we reveal ourselves to just anyone. Most vampires hide it because they want the person they like to like them back. Many fear that they will scare the person away. I personally have told my love what I am and he is understanding and he is still with me. Some people will not be afraid and they will stay, others will run screaming for the hills. If you are going to like or love someone and you are going to be with them, I think they have a right to know. If they stay then they are special and they are definatly a keeper. If they leave then they were never good enough for you in the first place. If you hide your true nature from someone you like or love, then you only live a lie...

i used to hide my real self from my girlfriend, mainly because i didn't think she would be able to deal, i slowly eased her into my nature, like first pointing out flaws in vampire movies, then admiting i ahve somewhat of an obsession then telling her flat out, we have had no problem with it since, she even offers blood if i am feeling down or hungry...

people hide because they are afraid to be themselves. The people who hold "power" are all the same.

to all vampires:

If I would be one I would also hide it out off fear off not knowing what they would do to me if they found out they excisted. Also there would be a major chaos of humans not knowing what to do then and will start hunting them like animals....of course Vampires are stronger and a lot off blood would flow then........

that's what i think what would happen.....

The world just wouldn't be ready to accept this......

If u think i'm a stupid human that doesn't know squat off it ask my non-interested friends about this......they would be shocked if they would find out

I would only reveal myself if it was someone I trusted and someone I cared about very much. Humans are not ready to accept the fact that we exist. They don't want to believe it and that is fine with me. How do you think vampires have survived for so long? Humans not believing in us is our best defense. Besides, any humans that came after us claiming to hunt us should be put away... Any human that hunts us and says it is "the work of God" or they are "ridding the world of scum" then they clearly watch to many movies. There is no justice in it, no matter the nature of the vampire, IT IS MURDER.

actually in this day and age I find a lot of people who think we really exist and would accept us but that is a joke. Like most the relie on movies of films that they have seen. My maker didn't trust the nature of humans unless you count me and balin. Of course he turned us, balin accepts or makers point of view that we must remain in the shadows protecting humanity never letting them know. I on the other hand like the company of humans in a way you can learn from them. only 2 humans know of my existence and they actually accept what I am only 1 has seen my true nature the other doesn't like to be that close. In my point of view I see no reason to hide or true nature to those we are close to or have gotten close to us. But to the rest of the world we should hide and not encourage the rumors that we exist for our saftey

Those closest to me know and accept.
But there are those who would not accept...and they are the ones to beware of.
We have hidden for years...and that has kept us alive.
I feel though...that to hide what we are...or try to change it for someone we claim to care about...we are doing them a great injustice...for their reaction is likely to be worse if they find out later.
