Help:

I have spent hours and hours on the net looking for the name of a television series about vampires.

I know ask for help. All I know is that there were different vampire clans battling one another, ie. well dressed vampires, biker vampires, etc.

It was not 'Angel', 'Forever Knight', or 'Dark Shadows'.

Can anyone help me???

I believe this series was born of some sort of role playing board game.

Are you thinking Vampire the Masquerade or something like that? I wasn't aware that it had been made into a TV series.

There's one called Ultraviolet I think, which is british. It hasn't been on TV here, so I don't know if it fits the description. But it's the only series I know of outside of the Whedon-verse.

I think the show you're refering to was called The Kindred (or Kindred - The Embraced depending where you're from) and yes it was based entirely around the Vampires: the Masquerade RGP. It was set in San Francisco but only ran for a season or so.

No worries, I remembered it vaguely from back in the days when I watched TV other than the Simpsons and sport.

Yeah it's been out for a couple years. It's a two dvd set with all 8 episodes on it.
