Saturn
I woke up after a rather disturbing dream to watch a girl come into my room and sit on my bed and ask "Are you going to ignore me?"
I'm sure I was awake but when I blinked she disappeared. She was wearing black with heavy make-up in a goth style, her hair was black down to her shoulders.
It was just weird.

My dreams sometimes stay with me all day, and I'll see bits and pieces of them as the day goes by.

On the other hand, there have been times that I have appeared in someone's dreams, that I was actually trying to call them, and wake them, up, and get their attention. Happened just this morning. He woke up less than five minutes after I attempted to make contact (of the energy sort) with him, and realized he had left his phone off, and called me. Often times he will dream that I am sitting on the bed beside him, watching him, or in a chair, and I think, I'm not sure, that he has gotten impressions of me upon awakening, as well.

So it is possible that someone was actually trying to get your attention.

Oh good, I'm glad I'm not the only one. I thought I was mad because it was so real.

I remember I got a PM once, on another forum. A member I had noticed (he had the most awesome nick) but never talked to, contacted me, telling about a dream he had that he couldn't understand. I don't remember all of it, it was quite long, but it ended with him entering a cave, and meeting a dark woman presenting herself as Clearwitch. And a strong sense of urgency and importance. There was more to it, but I can't remember. And we never figured out what it meant...

I wonder what kind of dream that was......#he kids.......#

WOW! That truly is very odd. I think that if it really means something, she will come back to you. (They say that recurring dreams are the mind's way of trying to tell you something important...) And, if someone is really trying to get in touch with you, she will try again. Perhaps you should declare out loud that you don't want to ignore her... unless, of course, you do! ;)
Lili
Any chance it could have been a hypnogogic experience?
Liod
What is hypogognic?
__Schisima__
Probably meant hypnogenic.

A hypnotized state induced through sleeping in mental patterns.
Saturn
Not sure about that. But next time I'll say hello instead of jumping 3ft off the bed.

I think you should keep an open mind about this. Maybe someone is trying to contact you, maybe it's just a weird sort of dream. My godmother once saw someone beside her bed, when she woke up, and the person looking down on her was ... her! She just closed her eyes and wait for a while and when she opened her eyes again the vision was gone. And she never had visions like that one again.

One of those things with many common names used (so everyone is actually kind of right). I guess wouldn't hypnopompic more apply here also though ?

Another way of putting it, imprecisely it is the twilight state between waking and sleeping. hypnagogic is also probably the most common form (among the others given) when used to couple it with an explanation for hallucinations it is called "hypnagogic hallucinations" meaning that the hallucinations are a result of being in this state. The term is derived from greek.

Think its a vision too. Wouldn't ignore her. Might have some valuable message. Perhaps seeing her as a Goth is part of it as well.
Saturn
Yeah maybe I'll check in here if it ever happens again.
Lili
I meant "hypnagogic" and mistyped. Thanks for correcting that, Passingover. :)

Feeling like an idiot,

Lili
