Hi, i am new here and completely obsessed with the paranormal. right now i am into vampires. although i believe in their existance i am having trouble finding out about any recent vampire encounters. it is true, i have heard, that some tribes or something drink blood way out their and i bet that their are people out there who are really not vampires, but think they are or are part of some occult so they drink blood. but aside from all that how do you know vampires exist? Does the creature written about by Bram Stoker exist or did he just put together a bunch of folktales and some information on Vlad. Dracula may not be what vampires are like. Maybe the folktales need to be looked at seperately to discover info on real vampires. I want to know what all you people think and what you have seen and know. have you met any vampires. are you a vampire. have you seen or heard of recent encounters of such. i am at a stand still here!

Bram stroker's vampires are purely fictional.. She had made a bet with another playwright to see who could write the more terrifyuing story.. She used Vlad dracula's barbaric history and Elizabeth Barthory's thought that bathing in her servants blood would keep her forever young.. She also used common myths of the time.. Real vampyre are much unlike that of myth and story.. I have met quite a few vampyre..

Bram Stoker was a MAN, an Irish author and a contemporary of Oscar Wilde. He wrote Dracula after a visit to the British Museum which was doing a feature on Vald The Impaler. Rhuen tells me it was mean to be a satire on The english playboy type of character who would go around the world spreading his seed (sorry if I got that wrong Rhuen) i personally think it was a reaction to the fact that mrs Stoker wasn't sleeping with him anymore - and that a lot of the Vampire action in the novel was a euphemism for sex.

I think you're actually thinking of the creator of Frankenstein - Mary Shelley - who as you say wrote it as part of a little competition with her fellow authors whilst they were on holiday. I don't think any money changed hands though - it was purely a creative exercise that turned out well.

actually i have met a vampire.. dont really care if you believe me or not but its the truth. i did at a job i worked once and i saw it with my own eyes a person that could grown fangs, his voice changed and his eyes changed , but he looked like anyone else normaly. i beileve though this person was not a real vampire but a demon,possesed entc. but yes he could transform at will strange only a few ppl in the world probly have ever seen such a thing...

I cannot be sure if I have ever "Seen" a vampire first hand. I have sensed things that are not human and have No doubt there are Vampires and other kin that keep an eye on me. But then again I can't be sure what title I have so maybe when I'm looking in the mirror I am indeed seeing what I seek. hmmm

Of course the story of Dracula is true it is based on a great Lord of war also known as the first king,I will explain more if need be..anyways Dracula means Dragon. Along time ago a great warrior came to power winning many wars unsceathed,meaning barely scratched.This great warrior has brushed greatness with the true being of why we truly are,God or not and in doing so became vampire meaning immortal,supernatural god .Dracula I of long ago(still alive,I promise)gathered a great army of people from Asia Minor(Major),what you call today east of this planet or Asia.Anyways Dracula and its army concoured the old saxons,and turks making Hong Kong them,draculas army going on without dracula to war making Japan,Korea,ect..(dracula and its army were also called triads,jaccusa ect.)

I believe Dracula the character was based off of Vlad Tepes or Vlad the Impaler. His fathers name was Vlad Dracul. im sure if you type "Vlad Tepes Dracula" into a search engine youll find alot more on this subject.

ive met a vampire at least i hope i did since i am one now and let me tell you vampire life isnt all its craked up to be cause its lonely and even if you have a clan you still have to go on your own sometime. as for meeting a vampire you dont generaly want to because were kind of mean to humans no offense just with all of your steriotypes it get annoying when people expect you to turn into a bat and fly away into the moon light.

Anyone can say thay have met a vampire for the simpel reason that eveyone has a diff apenyon of what a vampire is. So someone can meet somone that feeds of energy andy say thay have meet a vampire but thay could tell somone that and be told thay did not meet a vampire because vampires feed off blood and turn in to dust in the sun exedra. So it is what every the person thinks a vampire is that is going to deside whether thay have met one or not.

I've met peope with "gifts" or "traits" accredited to vampires; I am myself someone who has been called, deemed a vampire.

Did the vampire you met chance you in to a vampire or did you just tell yourself over and over again that your a vampire? If you truly are a vampire then can you chance other people into vampires and have you done so before?

I met a vampire once when i went to transilvania (my home town) ! I looked at him and he was pretty damn cute ! I was lost in his eyes ! When he looked at me he told me that vampire blood runs through my veins and soon you'll have strange feelings ! I can tell you that i do have those feelings ! I realised that when i heard my sister's thoughts about me ! The only thing i had in mind was "i wish ihad you in my bed my love !" I hope you believe me you guys !

I would be more likely to have believed you if you hadn't described Transylvania as a town. It is a descriptive term for a wide area and never has been a town. I'm afraid you need to research your stories a little more thoroughly when looking for believers.

Don't be discouraged though. I couldn't give a toss if you're a real Vampire or not as long as you're interesting to talk to, which you appear to be, anyway.

Oh boy, I agree with you. Although not all vampires are mean to humans. The few I know are the nicest people I've ever met. It's funny though, isn't it? Mortals that wish to be immortal and immortals that wish to be mortal. What I don't understand is that they can become vampires but we cannot become "normal" humans. I'm just so tired of living on every day. So how long have you been a vampire now? I've been one for thousands and thousands of years. Don't blow a gasket on me, I'm serious. You haven't been one long enough to know what it's like. I mean, mortals complain that their life is too long and too difficult. Immortals can't do anything about it. We're just wandering souls. Even if you commit suicide you still live on. Then you have the Jesus freaks excited about going to Heaven and having eternal life. Which is better though? Living for eternity in a happy go lucky place or burning for eternity and listening to the screaming? I've had a taste of each and I wouldn't want either. So no matter what, everyone's going to be living for eternity. We just got there before them. The only difference is we can't go anywhere, we're stuck to wander the same place. Honestly, I'd prefer this. I can't stand people that are constantly happy and I love listening to screaming but not when it never ends. It's like we took the easiest way out. By the way, I'm not religious by any means. I believe there's a God and I believe in the Devil... I just don't care for either of them. My parental figures this time around are trying to press religion on to me so I'm having fun tearing it apart and throwing it back in to their face.

The only link I find between Dracul and the Triads lies in fiction so far my friend please elaborate with reference to actual historical sources please.

The triads exist still in Japan...They still shoot people all the time but are fairly modern..

I never met a vampire but i believe anything is possible. There are a few people i have spoken to that in fact claim they are the real deal; and i'm talking about the "long lived" kind. Some of them claim they have fangs, can fly and have superhuman strength. While on the other hand, others say they can't fly and don't have fangs. Although their information contradicts each other; the one thing they have in common is the need for blood.

Well the flying cannot be done but I have sone theories on this. ok one it is said the some with traning and alot of it can jump highrer then a human, That may be how the flying came about. Also astral projection may be mistaken for flying, or illusion. I have fangs but so do some humans some vampyrs do not have fabgs so both are right. I am a vampyr myself but I lol do not know all things. I am not really new to this since I did alot of research but hey I can deal.

I heard that theory before and it seems more plausible than flying. I'm only sharing information other people told me. But who knows; like i said, i never personally met anyone claiming to be a vampire. I just spoke to them over the internet (and there is only so much a person is willing to believe without actually seeing it first hand).

I did meet a vampyr personaly and he also has a uniqu soul. Also though I am a vamp myselfand am sick of people saying prove it. (no offence)

Some basic things:
Dracul - the name of one of the leaders of the older romanian country...it mean the devil..i know why he got this name...but i wont tell now.
Dracula - is the name of the son of the above guy...this is the nickname for Vlad Tepes another romanian leader...Dracula nickname means he is the son of Vlad Dracul.....
And Vlad Dracul....was in the order of the Dragons...a noble society...in romanian lands. Emul.....stop thinking you know everything....i know everything...well almost..

I met generally speaking, it is easier to believe things when you see them with your own eyes. But i would never ask someone to prove themselves to me. Why would I? What would be the point? I'm not dismissing anyones claims. I do believe vampires exist, if not then why would i be here.

lol I know you were not directing it at someone here. Me I was speaking in genral. Alot asked me for proof and on another board I am acused of being a role player while this accuser contradicted himself many times. So ya lol.

I personally have reaserched vampires or vampyres witch ever u preferr for a few years and have come to an idea an to what the modern vampire might be. I have come to the conclusion that vampires are infact real and like many other creatures have evolved. I believe that a true vampire no longer has the need to feed on blood of a mortal to survive but actually feeds off the spiritual energy or lifeforce if u will. In folklore the vampires of ole possesed a teleconetic power such as the ability to read the minds of mortals or be capable of controlling ones mind. It is my belief that these powers have evolved so that the modern vampire no longer requires blood to survive but only the spiritual energy. Thus also changing the appearance of modern vampires as well. To this point I have not been able to prove my theory but do u not find it odd that some people benifit from others alement. I am still deep in my reaserch and will keep u updated on any of my findings safe travels my friend.

everyones idea of a vampire is different and everyones expierence with a vampire is going to be different because there is no one vampire the same all have different streingths and weaknesses not all feed on blood or blood alone and not all look the same

Vlad. Dracula was thought to be a vampire becuz he would drink the blood of the people he killed, reson why he did that was becuz he thought it would give him the power of that person
