Last night I had a few beers with friends at my place and after they left I got this urge that I sometimes do to put on my headphones and listen to old songs really loud.

Now that might only be marginally interesting, but the thing that struck me is, that my choice of music seem to go in a very different way when I'm drunk like that - some would call it nostalgic, some sad an pathetic

Anyway I'd just think if any of you have noticed something similar? do you have a particular song or songs that you only listen to when drinking?

I don't get drunk.

Whenever I get drunk I listen to 70 and 80's metal, not hair metal mind you but more along the lines of Dio or Iron Maiden. Listening to that music just enhances it knowing that those listening to it at the time were more than likely drunk or stoned out of their minds as well.

Hm. Rammstein, Eisbrecher, Megaherz and Tanzwut. Throw in some Draconian and Rob Zombie. When I drink, I prefer naughty songs that could be danced to.

Tenacious D - Fuck Her Gently...we just sing it really loud...and for some reason, drunk chicks love that song too.....which is grrrrrreat!

From what I've seen women seem to love anything Tenacious D, including Jack Black. Whenever it's played in a club or a similar place everyone seems to go absolutely crazy.

For some reason when my friends are drinking, they get the urge to play pop music... it started out just as stuff that was popular when we were younger (like Gangsta's Paradise or Here's Johnny, for example) which I just put down to nostalgia... but it evolved and now it can be anything from Avril to disney cartoon songs (eg. A Whole New World from Aladdin). I figure that the daggier it is, the better for a drinking situation... I myself can listen to anything, so it doesnt bother me any either way (though when I'm drunk, I personally seem to prefer listening to Pantera or Strapping Young Lad. Most people can agree metal is awesome drinking music..)

The thrashier the better.

Placebo, while not metal, are also a band that comes up alot in the selection of drinking music.

I dont get drunk anymore,i dont like the "oh my God what did i do last night" feeling lol just not worth it,anyway back in the day when i did'nt know any better i would attempt to sing I need a Hero and Black Velvet,waiting for a taxi with friends ,Stand by Me.

Anything from Les Miserables that I can sing my heart out too.

However I try not to get drunk too often, I am quite happy not being drunk too.

I'd be forced to go with Bottle of Smoke, or Transmetropoiltan by the Pouges...
Or anything else by them for that matter... If I should fall from grace from god, streams of whiskey... and so on and so forth.
Of course there's always Corb Lund band if yer feelin downtroddin and liquored up. Good ol country music about losin all yer dukets in a hand of poker, yer stud Belvadere dyin and you're woman's left you too depresed to rassle you some heffers in the Rodeo show.

When I sometimes sing with my freinds some random Icelandic songs or some dramatic ones lol.. We dont sing a lot when I'm drunk though
