Just wondering those of you out there that are witches or pagan, well anyone really, if you have anything special planned for halloween/samhain.
Personally i feel like a very bad person at the moment because, with my impending move, most of my books etc are packed to ritual wise I'm outta luck... I am going out 'dressed up' though.
I use that term loosly as I'm merely going dressed as i would like to dress all the time, unfortunatly i dont have the money to buy lots of medieval dresses and long black wigs... but i digress
I find Halloween the most exciting time of the year both as a witch and as a vampire fan... i get to walk amoung the 'normals' wearing what i like and going unnoticed... i get to see the darker sensibility in all the regular people, they start to have personalities I actually like!
For me Halloween is like christmas. Will any of you be having big celebrations, will it have extra spiritual significance for you? Does any of this make any sense?

Relatives [who are not pagan or "occultish" in any recognizeable way beyond a mere like for horror movies ] are coming over to live here for a few months so I will likely end up going out with them to Universal. Then later I am planning on time more for myself.
I like the time of year too. Partially just because of the season, which is somewhat dampened here. It is almost tradition that certain things happen on this day for me now as well.
I guess we'll see how that does.

There 'aint alot I can do as much to my dislike.
I cant throw a party. I cant go to any partys.
The most I can do is go trick or treating with my little bro or go to the halloween night at the local nightclub.
My age limit is such a bitch. :(

Do you know the
real meaning and origins of Hallows Eve?

that very much depends on wether you are celebrating it from a christian perspective of a Pagan perspective....
Personally i like Halloween... and if memory serves it is called all hallows eve, and makes reference to the thinning of the seperation between the spirit world and the natural world. It was a time when people expected their loved ones to return but not usually as they remembered them, a shell of their former self. christianity used to spread the rumour that it was Satan's night with the evil coming to the for of the world.
From my own pagan point of view, i am especially looking forward to this samhain/Halloween as it is a full moon over that time.... and seeing as the energies are always extra intense on that night with the added moon energy I am really looking forward to it... I need some natural energy as i am very drained at the moment.
There are many different folk laws associated with what Halloween is, was or should be classified as. personally, i like the freedom it allows me to express myself without ridicule and the energy it gives me.
I know i should be doing a ritual for Samhain, but my books are all packed and i do not want to do a half hearted attempt so i shall be honouring my Gods and Godesses in my own way....

I will do as I always do. Its personal what I do during the "ritual days" but on beggers night "when the kids go trick or treating" I hand out candy.
Just a warning to those planing to "play" with magic, remember the veil doesn't jus thing between our world and the spirit world but also other worlds. "I have stressed this alot this year as the veil feels to be unusually thin this year for some reason"
"I blame global warming"
seroiusly though this year will be an interesting one even the air looks different as we approach the climax of the thinning, its like looking through plastic wrap its so thin.

you sensed it too! I'm glad i'm not the only one... i've been completely off balance the past week... my 'senses' keep fluctuating between extra sensative to non exsistant, but like when you go deaf because of too much music...
Also been having extreame mood swings... seriously need some energy. I've been meditating off the scale and still no balance...
I dont meddle with magic... i do cast dont get me wrong, but at times of extreme power i usually caste a circle and call the guardians and then meditate and 'listen' as hard as i can ..... but as you said, my witchy sense is tingling (in the words of the great spiderman) and telling me to be wary.....
yes it will be interesting indeed....

Every year in Boston, there's a circle at the Boston Common. I've gone for the past couple of years. Afterwards, I invite friends & family to come to my house for a midnight dinner. It's fun! :)

Yes, and somehow it feels frustrating now. I'm kind of worried. We'll have an interesting weekend that's for sure...

Well, for the Full Moon Sabbat of Samain I did a little moon scrying and release ritual to let go of old things I no longer need to hold onto.....self~sabotage being one of the biggest. I cut My hair to symbolize letting go of it all. I wrote My new year's resolutions....Just Me and Vlad, My M8.
On All Hallows Eve, I'm going to dress up and go trick~or~treating with My nine year old daughter.....(Who, by the way, is a goth~chick and every year she's a vamp for Halloween-her choice {Thank the Gods I didn't get a 'barbie'!})!!
Free candy?
I'm no fool!
Hey and you are NEVER too old to ring the bell! If they look at you like you're a nut just tell them you've always been a bit immature!!!
My fav holiday, too. It's funny how a couple of people have already compared it to Xmas.....true! Best holiday, bar none!

During the lunar eclipse I performed a Lunar Gate ritual to send by negative emotions or shadow emotions to the shadow on the moon and send them away. As well as trying to draw the attention of the Moon Goddesses to the trouble with the veil betweem the worlds this year. Couldn't hurt to try as the moon feels like it is playing a part in the strangness with the veil this year.

Hollowe'en...
The best holiday in my opinion (especially for the really young)
I mean, what other holiday can you knock on complete strangers doors, scare the shit out of them and they throw you candy for it?
This year is a bit different though...
I can feel it. Right in the pit of my stomach when my mind is the clearest.
