Hi, I'm completely new to this forum so forgive me for any newbie errors! blink.gif

Story is a couple of months ago I began collecting songs about witches and found it was pretty easy. I have found nearly fifty songs now. Even Tom Jones has recorded the excellent Witch Queen of New Orleans.. hehe

Thought I should try and collect lots of vampire related songs next since they are my other favorite 'mythical' being. Have you people got any suggestions?

Here's some inspiration:
Roky Erikson - Night of the Vampire
Cathedral - Vampire Sun
Slayer - Bloodline
Type'O'Negative - Suspended in Dusk

if the songs has good lyrics, that's a bonus! :4:

My Chemical Romance- Vampires Will Never Hurt You
...They have a few other vampire-related songs on both their albums.

Well, Weak and Powerless by A Perfect Circle mentions dracula as does The Patient by Tool, though they are brief.

Weak and Powerless: "White as Dracula as I approach the bottom"

The Patient: "Draining patience, drained vitality this paranoid, paralyzed vampire acts a little old. But I'm still right here giving blood"

Both of those aren't bad songs either.

And of course, "Vampires in Love" by The Misfits. Or is it Danzig? I get confused.

There you go. Four pages and 135 songs that mention vampires that you can sift through. Good luck.

That site is great by the way, you type a word in the search engine and in sifts the lyrics for any song that mentions them.
Sakatha
'Theatres Des Vampires-Till the last drop'
Blaubaer
Perhaps you know the band 'In Extremo' they have a song called 'Vollmond' (means 'full moon'). That's also some type of vampire song.
Terria
A thrash/power metal band by the name of Helstar have a vampyric themed album entitled 'Nosferatu'.

Not only is it a cool theme, its a fucking good album. Think Iron Maiden/Death/Slayer, blended into one

The 'Nosferatu' reference reminded me that Blue Oyster Cult did one song with that title. They also had a song called "Tattoo vampire" on the Agents of fortune album.

Mercyful fate did one called "Return of the vampire" - which was later re-recorded with Lars Ulrich of Metallica on drums. Ok song, but they made a killer t-shirt for the following tour biggrin.gif
LustfulBlood
Moon Over Bourbon Street --Sting (i dont think that the word vampire is in the song...but it was inspired by Interview with the Vampire.)

and theres one that Anne Rice wrote....but i forgot the name....lol....its about a rat....in a vampire movie.....so maybe it isnt a vampire song...but its funny[/COLOR]

Ahem.....I'd say anything by Theatres Des Vampires is great....or Lovesong for a Vampire by Annie Lennox, so its not much to do with vampires, but its a good song! Oo
Nemesis Chylde
I can't believe you all forgot this one.

Azmeaiel

She wasn't an actual vampire though, she just bathed in young women's blood to try to regain her youth.
DarkStr68
I love the night by Blue Öyster Cult
Silverwuulf
But home is nowhere by AFI... If you read Anne Rice, it sounds a bit like a homage to Lestat.

Almost anything on the QOTD Album, but most folks here avoid anything to do with Anne Rice for some reason.

Night at the Vampire Club- by voltaire is hillarious.
Cleric
'Touch the Night' and 'The Hunger' by Lori Yates.

'After Dark' by Tito and Tarantula.

'Music of the Night' from Phantom of the Opera. Not vampiric by definition, but the lyrics are fantastic.
Grim_Faerie
Inkubus Sukkubus have a lot of songs about vampires too.

Well, I can tell you the reason I do is because I don't like her work, and I tend to avoid it because people are prone to talk about it here.
