Hello everybody,

I'm new here and was wondering about the kind of ideas people have about vampirism. I've been interested in it for a while now and am currently in the process of writing a story. I firgured the best way to do research is to go to the people themselves and ask them to describe what it means to them individually.

Hopefully no one will take offence at my enquiries and I hope to gain some good responses to help my understanding and improve my stories accuracy.

I think that was the worst sentence I've ever constructed. Oh well.

I wasn't sure where to post it didn't want to annoy people by putting it in the wrong place and thouht this was the safest option!

what are you thinking of writing the story about,
modern or classicla vamps?

if ur going for modern then think along the lines of normal folk who drink blood to feel normal

but as far as story telling goes, making a fun story is easier with classic vamps

I don't want anyone to be offened by my lack of knowledge or anything, just thought I would throw that in.

It's a story about a bloke who's a vampire the modern kind that gets consent from people before drinking their blood but has had a few 'misunderstandings' with donors and has ended up in a psychatric (sp?) ward. It's supposed to be a funny story about him slaughterin the staff of the hospital (after strong cravings for blood push him over the edge) and then sitting down to write a letter of complaint about the misconceptions of vampires and the attitude of the staff towards him.

No need to worry, Sarah, I doubt anyone will get offended. It's always better to ask than assume. :)

Your story sounds like it can get very entertaining, are you aiming for a short-story or a novel? We have a couple of published writers on here, they might be able to help you out more with the practical things.

But...you want to know about vampires...do you mean what HLV's are? To make it more realistic? What common traits are, what its like to be a vampire, etc?

on how being a HLV is, hmm, it's really hard to answer it liek this, with no direct question to answer,
maybe the best answer is to tell you to read threads in the "modern vampries" section, there are alot of them dealing with this exact thematics

How come I never get included in the list of “smart” people?? Anyways . . .. I would suggest that you look through the threads in the Sub Forum “Modern Vampires” for more information on “real life” Vampires. It would give you the chance to see how a conversation flows between some of them and hopefully you can use it to build character attitude and maybe attributes.

In the mean time; ask specific questions so that we can give you direct information. That way it’ll be faster.

Well to know more about vampires you have this forum or at least "the cript" to know more vampire things...

And alot of books, styoires, even movies... but I would chose the forum or the books...
