Eh well, a mod or admin or something will come along and move it sometime.
Anyways, yeah, Family Guy is great! Did you notice though, they changed the opening on it. Stewie used to say "F'in cry!" and now he says "laugh and cry" too.

I watched one of the most fucked up of episodes this evening.
Lois encouraged Peter to be involved in Stewie's life a little, so he finally acquiesced, but it involved causing Lois physical pain.
First, he accidentally dropped a jar from the cupboard on her head, Stewie laughed.
So Peter knocked another one over, deliberately. Stewie laughed.
So Peter picked up a third and crashed it over Lois's head as she started to walk away from this demeaning situation and she fell flat on the floor. Stewie laughed.
Then, we see Peter and Stewie getting to the top of the steps, with Peter dragging a water hose with spray nozzle. They open the bathroom door and spray Lois off the toilet and into the bathtub. She tries to get away, but only manages to get passed them and out; where the continuing torrent of water causes her to fall down the stairs. Peter and Stewie are still laughing.
This culminates in seeing Lois place or remove something from the trunk of the vehicle. Peter comes along, Stewie in towe, pushes her in and closes the trunk, then Peter and Stewie get in the car and start driving. All the while, they're still laughing this bizarre, detached laugh.
They get to a lake and both get out, letting the vehicle roll into the water where it promptly begins sinking.
Peter and Stewie are still laughing.
They turn and walk away and are shown at various locations during their trip back to the living room couch, all the while laughing that same detached, somehow lifeless laugh.
After a moment, their laughs die down a little, slowly. When they both stop, Stewie comments 'I hope she can get out of there.' To which Peter replies 'Yeah, I'm sure she'll be fine.'
Indeed, Lois does reappear later—albeit dripping wet and covered in underwater plants, Peter's response to her appearing at the door 'What's for dinner?'. This is also not the main focus of the episode, as many who are familiar with Family Guy will know, it tangents quite often.
What got me a little freaked was just the thought of someone actually having done that, and knowing that people have actually gone through with similar actions. The escalation of certain sociopathic behavior (also witnessable in the movie Party Monster) ...
Sorry, my mind is just reeling on that one.
EDIT: Spelling.

Well, then there was the song sung by 'Grandpa'.
A song of love and hopeful devotion.
A song of wanting to live a perfect life.
...
As wife to Peter's oldest son.
...With a house and a yard...
...And kids eating TV dinners while the four of them watch TV on their 12" screen...
...
It was bad.
It was disturbing.
It was Family Guy and I loved it; but I was disturbed. lol

*giggles* Family Guy is one fucked up cartoon, but yet thats what makes it so good. There should be more cartoons such as this, although I can't think of any others that are there like this off the top of my head....?

American Dad, for the simple fact that it is by the creators of Family Guy.

I dislike American Dad just becuase it seems like its trying to hard to be Family Guy and I think its failing miserably. Sure sometimes it has some good jokes but overall I dislike that show alot.

Many cartoon creators actually come up with quite different concepts when they make cartoons. King of the Hill is a far cry from Beavis and Butt Head, both by Mike Judge. Simpsons and Futurama are quite different as well, and both are done by Matt Groening... makes you wonder why the creators of American Dad chose to stick with almost the exact same formula.
Lollipop
Nov 22 2005, 05:28 AM
Maybe they just thought they would stick with a formula that worked

I would think that they would have enough creativity to make something new and cutting edge but I guess I was wrong. I think American Dad is supposed to be Family Guy except that it has more political things in it. I dont know though thats just what I think.

And to top it all off, I think the shows aire one right after the other.
I saw the opening to the show right after having watched that episode of Family Guy, although I was pretty tired, so it might have just been a commercial for it.
Every time I see the guy from American Dad, I think of the wheelchair guy (forget his name) from Family Guy.

Oh god Harvey Birdman is awesome. They have alot of good shows on Adult Swim but then they just have some crap ones. One I really hate is Tom goes to the mayor, but yeah thats a bit off topic.
