Do you think it's possible at all to make the fact that I'm a vampire a secondary thing in my life, something I can forget about and move on?
If ooooonly....

when I found out I was a vamp my whole life changed...
ergo, I doubt it would be possible to forget, you are a vamp, you cannot forget what you are ;)

I doubt that you can; being a vampire isn’t a one day thing; it’s a lifestyle, a path that we must walk whether we chose it or not. You can however learn to incorporate your vampric side with the part of you that wants to badly to be human.

Agreed with you...I know it's something that is going to change myself forever, there is no doubt.
Yet I guess I wish to be able to forget it exists. It's not easy, not at all. I have had to go through it for many lives, and it's always the same way for me.

If you had gone through it before I would think that you would be happy with the "heads up" and you would be more capable of handling the lifestyle.
Trying to forget who you are is erasing yourself from the world . . you will live a life without purpose and be a being without legend.
It is your choise however . . .I have already made mine.
