The blade. Bloody as hell. The body. Lies on the floor. Did I do this? Is the blade in my hand? Or is it in the cadaver on the cement looking up at me with a stare? I do not remember anything. The only thing I know is that I am in a desert with a jumping crowd around me. Jumping to the music. They don’t seem to notice the body their trampling on. I walk into the crowd. Pushing people out of my way. A guy comes up to me.
“Thanks, Crystal!” He said handing me a key ring with a tag on it.
I ascertained from that experience, that my name is Crystal.
I walked away from the loud horde of screaming people, and examined the key ring and tag. The key was gold and the tag said Hell’s Hotel, number 439. I didn’t know if I had a car, so I just stole one. I surprised myself when I ripped open the cars wire, and started the car. As I was on the empty asphalt road, I noticed the moon. It was red. Red as blood. Like the blade I was still holding. I stopped at Hell’s Hotel. It wasn’t that hard to find it, it was the first stop from the “concert.” I hid the bloody sword in my long black leather coat I was wearing and went into the hotel. I slowly walked up to the elevator, watching for people watching me. No one was even looking at me. That was a good thing. I quickly got into the elevator and hit the “4” button. The instinct a human has that something is going to happen flowed through me. I just didn’t know what would happen. I carefully got off the elevator and ran to the door number. I opened the door and slammed it behind me. I didn’t look behind me. I didn’t need to, someone was there for me.
“Hey Crystal,” He said in an evil tone. “How are you?” He asked showing his gold gun.
“Fine, I guess.” I answered sarcastically.
He loaded the gun and pointed it towards me. I stood there as he got up from the neatly organized bed, still pointing the gun. I looked at the gun, then looked back at him while wearing a smirk. He put his index finger on the trigger. I guess he didn’t know I still had the blade in my jacket. My hand became invisible as I steadily took the blade out of my jacket. He looked down at my jacket. He knew I was taking it out.
Seconds before he pulled the trigger, I cut him into little pieces. The blood splattered all over my body and the walls. A sprayed trail of blood led to the body.
“Banana split.” I laughed.

Lady came in the room and looked at Crystal. " Cuting people again are we?" she said in a " not a again" smerk . She looks at the walls and looks at Crystal cloths. " What... i just cleand in here GOD! Crystal what did i say about doing this typ things in the house can't you do in outside ?!" i need a drink " Lady goes down stairs to the kicthen ..

Crystal stood confused.. Wasnt she just in the hotel?? Did she not kill a man there? Not here. She looked to the walls, stained red, white behind.. She looked to the curtains.
"What the hell?" She asked herself. She followed Lady down the kitchen. "Lady? Is that your name??"

Lady looks at Crystal " don't play stupid .. you knwo who i am and What my name is !" Crystal stood confused looking at Lady . "Oh God ...Crystal what the hell is wrong with you , you look like you seen a gost "

"Lady.." Crytal paused to see the reaction on her face to see if that was her name. "Who am i, then?? Why is there a dead guy in there? Why is the blood on my hands? And why are you so happy about it??"

Lady looks at Crytal " ok .. your name is Crytal .. there a dead guy in your room because you cut him up hence the blood no your hands .. adn i'm not happy about it .. i'm just use to it "

Crystal stood with her eyes tearing. She looked into Lady's eyes. She wasnt lying. "Why did I kill him??"

*The girl knocked on the door, she had heard voices inside so she knew at least two people where in there.*

Some weird guy downstairs saw me and told me to come up here,....

I know your in there open up.

*Knock, knock, knock.*

A man opened the door. "Crystal.. I have been waiting for you. The "weird guy downstairs" is my brother, Nathaniel, I am Sean. I am telling you this, because Lady has told me you have lost your memory."
Crystal nodded. "Why did I kill that man?"
Sean smirked for a moment. He was trying to kill you, he was trying to kill your kind. Our kind."
"My kind? Your kind? Our kind? What are you talking about?"
"You, my dear friend, are one of the best creatures in the world. You, are a shapeshifter. You can shape into things, animals, other people. I am surprised you do not remember that."
Crystals eyes watered. "What are you talking about?? I am not that thing!"
"Yes you are. Do you see the mark on your left hand. It is the sign of the shapeshifter. Do not tell me im lying. I am not."
"But, why would they want to kill us?"
"They hate our race, they believe that we kill for no reason, we need to eat.. they believe that we are dangerous.. all the time.."
"What do you mean, we need to eat?"
"When we turn into animals, we like to eat the way they do..if thats a human every once in awhile, than we eat them, plain and simple."

Lady looks at Crystals tears ...
"why are you tearing up , *Grr *you see what you did Nathaniel ? "
" look everyone she had a crazy day ok .. so lets all leave her be ok maybe she'll regane her memiores back ..ok .." * push's evryone out of the room *
"I hope she is all rite " Nathaniel said to Leona "what ... you should of not aid anything yet " * slap's him upside the head* " stupid boy"

Hmm allright then, Ill just wait here then.

*He walked over to the bed and threw himself on it.*

*He mumbled into the covers,* why the hell am i up here anyway?

Crystal laid her head on the wood of the table.. Who the hell are these people?? Why the hell did he say that? Are they humans? Should I believe what Nathaniel said? Crystal looked to the black sky, the moon smiling to her. Smiling within all her confusion.
Lady walked in.. Crystal looked to her with fright.. Nathaniel came in after her. They also looked to the moon. They looked to eachother, and Lady slapped Nathaniel on the back of the head and rolled her eyes. She took a stool next to Crystals.

Lady looks at Crystals and says "look ... i am going to say that you have no memory of what and ware you are... so i'm going to let you try and see what you sould know"......

"All I remember, is that I was holding a bloody blade, in a concert. My name is crystal, and you are Lady. I only know that, and what you have told me in the past couple of hours. Which I have no idea, if I should believe it." Crystal looked to the moon. It looked as if the colors were changing. She rubbed her eyes, and looked again. Nothing. She looked back to Lady. But she was no where, only a dog. Then, a cat.
"HOLY SHIT!" Crystal screamed falling off her chair. The cat began to talk but, Crystal could not hear anything, for she was changing herself.

The cat goes to Crystal.. and mew's in her face... "Crystal are you all rite ..?"

Pain shot though crystal, as he height rapidly decreased. She looked to her legs, they were hairy and long, she looked to her arms, they were deformed, and her hands were turning into paws. She could smell everything. She closed her eyes and wished it wasn't true. She didn't answer Lady's question.
"No," she told herself. "Its just a dream.. Just a dream." Lady asked it again, and Crystal looked to her. "Im an animal. Im not normal.." She ran out of the room, and ran out of the house, leaving the door open behind her. Deep inside she hoped Lady would come, maybe she could explain this. But, she doubted.

Lady runs outside to find Crystal... " Crystal are you all rite.. you never have a probles .. befor .."

Crystal didn't even hear her cries, she just kept running. The wind splashing her hair behind her, her eyes set on the ground beneath her feet. Tears came from her eyes. She told herself to wake up, wake up, but it wasnt a dream, it was real. She looked to her hands, still hairy and puppy like. She wasnt dreaming, this was real.
She suddenly could smell someone behind her, she could hear him loading a gun. She ran as fast as she could back to the house. She had to know more about this.

OOC: wow, destin4darkness, i love your avatar... its cool..

IC: She rushed into the house, slamming the door behind her. She saw that Lady was on the couch, watching the tele and Nathaneil was coming from upstairs.
"What the hell? Someone is trying to kill me.. why?? I need to know everything, now tell me!" She yelled, catching their attention.

Lady looks up at Crystal and said " eveyone wants to kill us ... all ways .." Nathaneil butts in " sad really .. you think they would care about people who trys to protect them ...OcH" Lady puches his arm . look i would tell you all you need to know but ... you need to tell me what your reamber ... ect ok ?"

Crystal looked to her hands. Back to fingers, no hair. "I dont remember much. All I remember is when I was at the concert and here. Thats it. Well, the hotel too." She sat in the comfy couch she was standing by. "Please, tell me what I don't remember."

"ok well listen well your name is Crystal you are what They call shap shifters and thats what we kinda are .. if you want to dum it down you know me and Nathaneil because we are your firends you showed us what i was when i did not.. you are ..a protecter of our kind ...do you reamber that ?" Lady ask

Crystal suddenly had a flashback...

She walked out into the night, with a crow following her shadow. The moon glided on the galliant seas of the velvet clouds, swimming across the horizon. Her eyes glistened in the moonlight, as she transformed into a wofl. Running across the streets, running across the city. Looking for danger, looking for her job.
A man behind her, points a gun, shoots. Hits her chest. She falls to the ground, her eyes dim, her eyes closed. Her heartbeat echos through the city.

Lady said something else, but she wasn't sure..
"What did you say? Was I shot?" She could feel the pain burning inside her chest. Inside her heart. Constantly beating, constant pain. She tried to stand, and walk away but she didnt get too far.
She awoke in bed, with Lady and Nathaniel at her side.

OOC: im a newb so i apologize in advance ><

*Jake opens the door into the room, Ms Lady and Nathaniel with their backs to him, at the side of the bed*

Is she ok? i came as soon as i could.

*the faint trace lines of a light feather pattern were just disappearing on his arm, before he rubbed it away*

"who..who are you???" Crystal muttered, trying to push herself up from the pillow. Her chest still hurt badly. But she wondered why. She looked into his eyes. "Who are you? What are you?"

"Crystal, .... breathe, its ok. I'm Jake, you've helped us all reach this point. Let us help you now. It's ok, i'm a friend...."

Jake glanced sideways to Nathaniel as he touched Crystal's hand gently, his brow furrowed in worry.

"Now relax, tell us what happened."

She closed her eyes and tried to remember. "A crow was following me, and I turned into a wolf..The next thing, I remember is, that im running across the street, and someone shoots me. It felt so painful, like it went straight through my heart. Through my soul. I felt it, even though it was a dream."
She looked up to Jake with a tear streaming down her porclaine pale cheek.

lady looks at them and takes her leave ... " i will make some food God knows how hunger she is " ...she looks at Nathaniel " come help me Nathaniel." as Nathaniel was opening his mouth she looked at him and said ... " I'll make some cookies if you help me " Nathaniel looks at her and said "as you wish " adn fallowed her out

Jake held her hand and lent in, kissing the tear from her face.

"I'm sure your soul is fine, get some rest Crystal." he said with a wink.

Jake walked out of the room to ask Lady what he had missed, and where the next place they needed to be was.

As he walked out, his hand quickly covered something in his back pocket; Crystal saw a quick glint flashing from under his belt before it was concealed behind his dark leather jacket.

Crystal tried to listen in to what they were saying but she was just so tired and hungry. She just wanted to rest and to know what was happening. She closed her eyes, and she couldn't help herself by falling back to sleep.

Wind whispered in her ears as she looked to the moon and spread her wings. The black leather became black wings, her green eyes became small and nocturnal. She had to protect them. Had to. They all needed protection, even her. But she could protect herself. She perched on a rooftop and looked down to the alleyway floor. There, the man was. Pulling out his gun, trying to shoot at one of hers. She flew down, and ripped the gun from his hand, breaking all of his fingers. He clenched it in pain, backing away to the maroon brick wall. She pulled the Demon Edge Sword from her jacket, and plunged it into his chest. He let out the last breath of the night. She looked to the young one, hiding. Scared.
"Dont worry.." She said.. "He won't be hunting any more tonight." She swung her jacket across her and flew back into the night. Her heartbeat rumbled through her. Sweat on her temple slowly evaporated into the cold winter breeze.

OOC: i feel underclassed, awesome goddess :)

Jake thought silently as he ate Lady's cookies, his not quite human senses treasuring whatever peace he came across in life.

As he finished, the heaviness on his shoulders fell, a sombre veil seperating him from Nathaniel and Lady, falling back into the mind behind his dark green eyes.

He raised his arm at the running wolf, his hatred of Them firing up in his head. The revolver was cold in his hands, a whispering chill blowing the clouds from the face of the full moon. His aim was perfect, hate fueling the bullet as it fired. The recoil was enormous, too much. Something was wrong. He hadn't fired. The hawk was there, the damn Demon was there, clawing his weapon away. He screamed, not in pain but in rage, as It became more, no longer hawk but demon, plunging its sword through his chest, Its sin of existence ending his own.

Jake fell to the floor, thrashing, screaming incoherently into the hard tile of the kitchen.
"NOT A DEMON! BASTARD!" he yelled, crying at his own chaos, the sound of his own voice bringing tears to his eyes.

"ABOMINATION! LIES!"
he continued, as Nathaniel and Lady rushed to his aid.

Crystal awoke screaming, she could hear Jake screams also. She didn't know what was wrong, she had all these feelings rise in her, as she heard his scream. His scream, she thought. So, familiar. His voice, familiar.

Crystal slowly and painfully got from the cradle of her bed, and slowly crept downstairs only to hear Nathaniel, Lady, and Jake talk about things she didn't want to hear. But she kept quiet, keeping close to the wall.

OOC: so...what happend to the others? im sorry, kinda out of things to do without them...

ooc: their discussing something bad, that Crystal doesnt want to hear, but she does anyway. Shes hiding in the hallway, keeping close to the left wall so they wont see her..:D

Jake grabbed Nathaniel by the wrist as he walked away, his leather jacket swishing through the air as he pulled Nathaniel back to face him, Jake's eyes fierce and piercing.
"You cannot just leave us here, " hushing his voice a bit. "I'm scared Nathan, for her, for all of us."
Speaking once more, "You, Nathan. You were saved once by her, SHE is the reason you are here now, do not abandon her now simply due to your own vulnerability."

Without a word, Nathaniel turned his eyes, supposedly in thought, the sad face of Lady behind him, mentally broken from his arguement.
Nathaniel glanced towards the corner, Crystal ducking back into hiding.

"This is your last chance Nathaniel. If you choose to do this to yourself, I....I have no choice..." He trailed off as his hand wandered behind his jacket, out of view of the other two shape-shifters.
"And you Lady, you're like a mother to us. Do not abandon Crystal now. Don't let us go."

no, she thought. They cant go. They cant. They're the only people she really knows. NO... Another tear ran down her face at the thought of this. She closed her eyes as another fell.

The moon was bright and the wind flying through her wings. Her eyes, as an eagle, was the best. No one tried to mess with her for a few days, but she knew something was up. She could feel this feeling in her stomach, eating away at her soul. If she had one. She flew down and perched on the dark skyscraper, high above the city streets and watched as the shapeshifter peacefully walked among the streets. Smelling the beautiful flowers, makin no sound as she walked. No sound as she trampled upon the dirty asphalt sidewalk. She felt something was going to happen to her, she had to protect her. The eagle screeched, and that got her attention as a car speeded up and someone came out, and started shooting with a machine gun. The eagles eyes widened. She quickly flew down and grabbed the shapeshifter by the shoulders. She quickly lifted her out of there, and fell to the ground with all of the weight. She turned back. "Be careful.. They know we're here."

She opened her eyes again, and went up to her bedroom, running. She knew they could hear her footsteps. She didn't care. They were leaving anyway.

*leona looks up at the staires* "she herd you ... Cpme with must talk to her now "

ooc: you mean lady???

Crystal jumped on her bed, with tears streaming down her cheek. It didn't matter, they were leaving anyway. Who cares.. She thought. She could hear them running up the stairs.

Jake was the first in the room, followed closely by the other two. To Crystal's surprise, he ran past her to the window, the sky dark with rain clouds and an early sunset.

"Too late...." he said, half to himself. "We need to leave," he glanced over to Crystal, face down in a small pool of glistening tears.

"I'm sorry," he told her, then he jumped over the ledge into the rain.


He landed softly, the two story house's shadow engulfing him as a streak of lightning cut across the sky. His paws made no sound against the wet grass, but as he reached the street he could hear a deeper patter than the rain achieved. He was bleeding. The sound of the gun reached his ears the same time the thunder did, overwhelming his enhanced senses. Hissing into the rain, he leaped a short wall and sprinted towards the forest. As the sound of gunshots turned away towards the house, he could only pray for their own luck, the rain now thundering into the street around him

Crystal looked up, just to see no one, and nothing but the rain. She could feel something coming. Someone, someone coming to kill her. To kill them. No wonder they ran. She pushed herself up from the bed and stood in the misty wind coming from the open window. She stepped out on the roof, rain was pouring from the gutters, but she didn't slip. The thunder roared in her ears, and the lightning burned her retnas. She could feel someone behind her, she knew who it was. "I'm so glad your here, " She said as another tear ran down her cheek. She closed her eyes. It was another hunter. She could just imagine the face. The eyes, peircing her back. The lips, the hair getting drenched by the rain. Fury rose from Crystal's eyes, and the wind threw her hair from her face. "Goodbye.."

She turned around slowly and raised her hands to the sky. "It doesn't matter who you are, I know what you are here for..You are here to kill me, and all those whom I love. But, you will not suceed. Your kind never will." With her eyes turning black, she looked to the hunter. It was a woman, holding a sword in her tranch coat, ready to attack at any moment. Crystal could hear her breathing, could hear her heartbeat. "Goodbye..." She said, lifting the huntress up, and throwing her into the ground. Six feet under. She could smell the blood coming from the wounds from the dead huntress. She fell to the wet roof. She was exhausted. What had she just done? She killed another. Why? The earths tears streamed down her, making her cry even more. She tried to stand but she couldn't she could no longer hold herself up. She fell to the roof, once again, and closed her eyes.

The wings of the angel, so black. So dark, so beautiful. He loved her, she still loved him. But he had to leave her. "No, wait.." She called out to him, but he did not stop. He didn't have to. He loved her no longer. No longer. "I love you! Please do not go! I beg of you!" Did not turn around. Did not stop. Did not say anything back. Did not love her. She looked back to the moon, slowly going into the earths cradle. Pain shot through her. Through her chest. Why? She looked down to her chest, she was dying. Dying of a broken heart. The blood flowed, the heart stopped beating.

She awoke back in her room, with the covers wrapped tightly around her. "W..What?!?" She had no idea how she got there. "Jake? Lady? Nathaniel? Are you here?"

Lady , ran in " whats wrong ? , are you not all right ?"

She saw Lady and remembered what had happened. "Why? Why were you going to leave?" She put her face into the pillow remembering what she had done to the hunter. She smiled within herself as Lady sat on the bed. "Just tell me why, why were you going to leave, why are you still here? and, why did i do that to the hunter.."

Jake stopped, the light of the streets just in view through the treeline behind him. The sound of the rain was lighter, and the thick foliage above him shielded all but the most concentrated water.
He collapsed as his adrenaline left him, lying motionless, the shine from his fur dulling as his mind left him.

Rain fell heavier as he awoke, a bolt of lightning again cutting across the night, echoes of light rays flashing through the trees. He drew his blade, silver and embellished, hooked at the hilt and carved into the sharp beak of a raven. He was exhausted and drenched, no idea of how long he was out.
As the thoughts of Crystal filtered back, he started running back to the street, the wind on his jacket seeming itself to be against him, holding him back inside the safety of the trees.
