I honestly dont think vampires are afraid of Garlic, or crosses. I think my preacher at church is a vampire. often at times i see someone in his house with a long cloak, biting at something... i think its a wooden horse O_O... but what really creeps me out is how he dislikes the sunlight, and at about 3 am in the morning i see what looks like some sort of bat, or something... near his house in the old dead oak tree.

what should i do to protect myself, or should i just admit that ive been following the ways of a (rather unusual) vampire, and give in?

O_o....
Astarael
why protect yourself.. a vampiric preacher.. i would find that amusing..
Drak
is it true that a lot of vampires live around London?
Wraith

Indeed, although rather than sucking your blood they suck the money mercilessly from your wallet!

yes, there are quite a few vampires in london like any major city..

and you could always slit you wrists in the middle of church and seeing if he gets the urge to drink, if not then at least he has lost himself a stalker

Preacher/Vampire?

Hmmm I like the symbolism in that. Vampires are very much cult figures - they have their followers, 'touched' by a force that is greater than themselves.

As to the vampires in London query: yes and no. London has a population that is sufficiently big and dense to include all aspects of human behaviour so yeah, I guess you would find more Real Vampires there. Manuela Ruda says she was first introduced to vampirism in London. But look where it got her...

And yet I'd say no, because there seems to be an idea that England, and London in particular is a classic Vampire Hangout when in fact we have comparatively few legends. It's a misconception.

Hope I have sufficiently avoided directly answering your question ;)

3AM in the morning is about the time i get home from work... Raileys-Belair FOOD stores.

but what can i do to test if hes a Real Vampire, or just has a different fashon sense and behaviour.
NightVision
You can't test humans living as vampires because they are humans who have chosen to live that way.

I wouldn't recommend you try the 'lost boys' approach to testing for Real Vampires either because all it will do is make you look weird and over -zealous which I'm sure you don't want.

According to the old stories, traditional vampires are very uncomfortable around crosses and other christian paraphernalia so I think it's unlikely your preacher is a vampire.

Having said that, I think most religious figures are weird - they are motivated differently to the common herd. I think it's part of the job description. Interesting thoughts though, perhaps you could write a kickass vampire story based on these experiences. Anyway the first step in any investigation is unobtrusive observation of the subject.

Has this chap killed anyone? Does he have the local townspeople living in fear of his words? Does he bend the souls of men to do his bidding?

If he has done none of the above, then I would suggest that even if he is a vampire (which in my opinion is a pretty big if) then you leave him be as he is not actually hurting anyone. I would also suggest that unless he is guilty of those actions that you really need to get out a little more and stop obsessing about some poor guy across the street.

bend the souls... do you mean like how he often tells us to take up the vines even in the darkness to spread our word and let the light show?

drak why dont u try to be his friend maybe he like me allergic to the sun thumbsup.gif
ReVamp3d
*laughs* I could have sworn I was in Modern Vampires... man.. scared myself there for a sec. Anyways.. IMHO if we are talking about a classical vampire then I believe there is a slim to nil chance he is one. Set aside my beliefs about classicals, it just contradicts most lines of theory on the matter.
Lili
I agree that he doesn't sound much like a classical medieval vampire. He does sound very odd, though.

I'd only worry if he started showing up outside your window or something. The best way to approach this situation is probably just to find a different route home and ignore the preacher. Can you switch churches?
Sunshine
Well, I think it's possible that he could be one. Who ever said a Preacher couldn't be a vampire? Maybe he uses it as a diguise, because the chances of him being one makes it harder to believe. unsure.gif

Ive been known to wear a long black cloak over my corset and stockings...you said it looked like a wooden horse...ive seen a few...could be..he's a closet kink but I dont think he is a classical vampyre ;)
