ever since i was little i have always had an obsession with vampires i guess that is why i am now at this website. but there is this book i am currently reading called i am legend, if u havent read it you should, i will give u a summary from what i have read so far.
robert neville is a normal man who lives his life the best he can, but his family starts to die off from a plague in 75', and eventually he is the only human left, everyone else who has died is now a vampire....so he is living in his home with all the windows and door boarded up, kind of like they do in night of the living dead. anyways well he starts researching the best he can and comes to the conclusion that vampirisim is a germ not a virus because i virus cant be seen... so he calls the germ "vampiris." tell me what you think. if vampires do exsist is he even close at all. if you havent read the book you should really check it out.

I would have to agree with Archangel and say that it is one of the greatest vampire stories ever written. I just picked it up today and read it in several hours, its a rather short story but its written very cleverly and is filled with allot of suspense. A very worthwhile read and a very interesting concept. I am definantly going to be picking up more of this author.

one of the parts i like the most is the fact that it was written in the 50's so it was a futuristic vampire story when it was written as well!

It was the basis for the movie The Omega Man with Charlton Heston.
Another Matheson favorite of mine is There Is No Such Thing As A Vampire....wicked, wicked ending, lol.
