The only band that I listen to that can be considered even near to these catagories would have to be Portishead I fucking love Beth Gibbons. I not to sure what classification that would fit into but I am sure it fits somewhere in there.

Yeah I've had some trance on recently. Mainly dj Quicksilver, dj Shog and a group/artist called Adrenaline Drum.

Mentals been giving me some flack about turning into a raver :rolleyes:

I'm fairly new to the stuff though, having only recently stepped into the genre from the realms of ambient drum and bass and most forms of electronica.

it's fucking awesome music. You should listen to more. Go back and look at my music list..most of that shit is darkwave.

if you seriously think it's gay then you're a fucking retard. trust me it's not very easy to make this music. it takes a bit in the noggin to know what you're doing. also like i say to everyone who thinks good music is crap...if you think it sucks so bad then let's hear you make something better.

When it comes to electronic music I listen to my fair share, including Industrial, Darkwave, IDM, and straightforward Mainstream Techno (I'm not much for most rave-electronic myself).

I'm not 100% sure what you want us to list though.. specifically darkwave artists or electronic music in general? I thought I should ask before I write out a list of the bands I listen to :P

Just write out what you think should go under there.
I think Velvet Acid Christ is. Apoptygma Berzerk. Bands like that.

And thanks A-frizzle. Couldn't agree more. :) I've tried before and havn't gotten -too- far with it. It took some time for me to finish making one song...And I think it's shit compared to the artists on my list.

You missed what he said Brandon...he loves Darkwave...just not the techno/trance raver shit...we were listening to darkwave and you hated it.

Abney Park, Athamay, Angels And Agony, The Nine, A Split Second, VNV Nation, Velvet Acid Christ, Waldgeist, Assemblage 23, :wumpscut: .. those are the bands with darkwave songs in my playlist (I know some of them couldn't be considered darkwave artists primarily though).

I've gotta go check my CD collection now. Darkwave is something I can find easily if I wanted it, because I know a specific store that imports them.. but the problem is, they cost a lot because they're imported, and I'm also not a huge fan of the darkwave vocal style (I think it'd be so much better as an instrumental genre) .. So I don't buy the darkwave stuff much. Gimme my industrial anyday ;)

I love darkwave i,e wumpscut, hocico, grendel..etc I like trancey ebm bands like apoptygma berzerk, vnv nation , rotersand, de/vision..etc and alot of techno influenced power noise has well! theres a load wicked techno artists that on are on cyberdog cd's I've one one of them and its mostly old skool happy hardcore artists gone techno lol
