Waaaay, waaaay back in 2001 Peter Jackson's first installment of his "Lord of the Rings" trilogy was released, and there were more than just a few audience members staring in disbelief. Who would've thought?

For those of you lacking in the movie trivia department, Peter Jackson isn't your all-American movie director. Ever see Dead Alive?

This adorable little film opens on, "Skull Island". Sounds lovely, no? We watch as two guys stumble along with a cage, getting chased by angry natives. In their cage is the infamous and notorious, "Rat Monkey". The camera is pretty frantic, if you get motion sickness, I suggest fast forwarding. XD.
In his style, Jackson starts the fun off quick, one of our little cage-carrying friends gets bitten by this 'rat monkey', and the other dude, (along with a few other people) wind up chopping his arm off to save him from the infection. Unfortunatly, the monkey got a scratch at his forehead. Didn't look too deep, though, right? Nothing to lose your head over.

We fast forward, the monkey is sent on a plane ride to a zoo. We catch up with a guy... and a girl.
They meet in a shop, and wind up going on dates. But the guy's mother (total Mrs. Bates times 10) is too protective and demanding of her son, so he doesn't get to spend time with this girl. During a trip to the zoo with her, his mother shows up- and winds up getting bit by this rat monkey.

The rest of the movie is a roller coaster ride of gore, cannibalism and ... comedy? This movie incredibly out Savinis Savini. Zombies giving birth, body parts dropping off, the infamous lawnmower massacre... definatly something not to miss out on. Released in 1992.

And who said nothing good happened in the 90s?

Fail
Fuck and I thought I was the only one who had seen this sweet peice of cinema. I loved the senseless violence in this move from the monkey/rat bitten zombies that hung out in the guys basement to the lawn mower carnage at the end. Espceially his mom at the end when she turns into that super zombie/demon thing. I recommend everybody to watch this movie if you haven't seen it yet.

I saw this movie when I was like four, all I can remember from it was his mother being bitten..and then I think a scene with her all zombified on a roof top? I don't know, Scared the hell out of me..
But I'm confused..Isn't this movie called Dead Alive also? haha.
Bright One
I watched this a few years back when I was about eleven. I can't remember it that well, I do remember the rat monkey though and the intestine monster and the priest who kicks ass in the name of the lord.

I loved this movie...the baby in the park and the lawnmower scene are just priceless. But Jackson has done far more messed up films...ever watched Meet the Feebles and Bad Taste? Yeah. I loved Braindead, but I liked Bad Taste just as much, if not more.
Incitatus
I thought Bad Taste was a lot slower and more amateur feeling. Though still funny as hell, that guy having to scoop his brains back in lol.

Braindead is one of my all time faves, when it gets to the point where he just lives with all the zombies as if it were normal I thought it was so funny. The effects are just perfect, ridiculously gory. The zombies having sex was a scene I'll never forget.
