This interested me, as a NJ kid by birth.
Alan Rowe Kelly, he's a filmmaker, he's New Jersey-based. ;).
Anyway, that guy (^) was a designer/makeup artist. He totally loved horror movies though, and B-movie horror, since he was itty bitty. He watched Creature Features, Chiller Theater, etc.
He has a movie out from Heretic Films! Already out nationally (June 22), and WILL be out internationally in October sometime.
TOTAL shoestring budget. Took 85 days to shoot, but it took like FOUR years to complete.
They could only film on weekends. Most of the people involved had actual lives/jobs that were fulltime. They worked around their locations, such as a cemetery on Staten Island that they got for 50 bucks and a bottle of vodka for the caretaker. ;).
Filmed in and around old mining towns in southern NJ, too.
Ahem.
I'll Bury You Tomorrow follows the residents of 'Port Oram'- the only THRIVING business is the funeral home. ;). There's some graverobbing goin' on though, black market, two guys tap into it.
Basically, Alan Kelly says he was paying homage to all those awesome horror movies from the 70s that we all know and love. They were morbid shit.
To top it off, I'll Bury You Tomorrow deals with incest, necrophilia and murder. This guy wasn't afraid to make it a little seedy.
The main character winds up running to this town and becoming an EXPERT mortician. Junk goes on, the lid on the top secret graverobbing shit is almost blown, etc, etc.
Some pretty nasty death scenes, suspense. Might surprise you.
