I've been a Chalice fan for quite some time now. Hopefully I'll be able to see them sometime soon too (I'm Australian).
I'd go for anything from the Chronicles of Dysphoria album as a check out.
I wouldent call Chalice metal though. Metal influences sure, but distorted guitar and the odd double kick pattern dont make a band metal. Mind you, what the fuck else can you refer to them as.. I suppose doom metal works, just with more influence from classical music than metal. The occasional chuggy guitar and double kick deal is all really.
This other band is new to me though, I'll give them a listen.

I just checked out some stuff from the new album.. They seem to have lost thier violinist and placed a little more emphasis on the metal aspect of thier music.
