Vampires.com members, I was thinking what if our facination with vampires is some kind of hypnosis there puting on us for food or there personal plesure are we merely there puppets or are they calling to us and we are the only ones strong enough to seek it?!?

That's a very interesting theory. Mass hypnosis? It would certainly explain a lot. I don't think this is a very effective recruitment drive though, because a lot of people who want to find real vampires end up finding people like me instead.

Hypnosis? I doubt highly doubt it. I don't think that the reason we're drawn to the general idea of the creature is because of hypnosis, maybe its the appeal of the power. There are so many reasons why most people are attracted to suck things... many I think include: romanticism, darkness, attracktion to the unknown, and so on. But, mainly I think people are just drawn to them because its something that they don't understand... something that seems almost forbidden. But that's just what I think.

Ya from what I have read about hypnosis you kindda would hafta too be incontact with the person for it to fully work.But there is alway subbliminal messenging in T.V.s, music, and movies.

Hypnosis, yes, but mindcontrol doesn't require actual, physichal contact. And propaganda can work wonders, just look at how vampires are portrayed in movies, books and music. They are specifically aimed in on excactly what the teenagers wants...

besides hypnosis and stuff like that........

i think that it brings us back to our most PRIMAL need.....

to be in control..........

being a vampire and having powers means you have control over all the puny humans.

our fascination is stemming from the fact that they are unpredicatble, unattainable (at times) and that we have not been able to put them in a box and label them. we are enthralled by the things that we do not know much of. the idea of beings with more knowledge, more power and wisdom drives us to learn about them because we strive to be the best(this explains the wanna bes) we hate knowing that we aren't on top of the food/brain chain so to speak
