I want to know if they are real ... They make a vampire relationship with a human look so romantic and stuff ....help? :help:

Hmmm I think all of us here know what you are talking about: and that is why this site is so successful. You don't have to BE a Vampire to enjoy Vampire stories and discuss them, although this 'real vampires' area is for those who choose to live as vampires.
You're asking for help: what kind of help is it that you require? If you feel there is something abnormal about your interest in vampires don't worry. There is nothing abnormal about being interested in Vampires. Many great Novels and Artworks are born directly of an interest in vampires.
It's very difficult to say whether or not Vampires are real. Nobody has ever come up with any evidence that they are, but there are people who SAY they are Real Vampires, sure, there's plenty of those.
To complicate things even further, everybody has a different idea of what a vampire actually is. It's up to you to decide what a vampire is. Myself, I go very much with the ideas put forward in Dracula: others may think in order to be classified as a vampire all you have to do is hate the sun and drink blood.
Vampire/human relationships appear very erotic, yes. Some people are turned on by the idea of being overwhelmed by all that power: other people just like having their neck kissed by a guy in a frilly shirt.
I suppose the place to start ( the place where everybody with an interest in Vampires starts) is to research. Find out as much as you can about Vampires, by looking through this site and looking on the web: be careful though - there are some very dodgy individuals out there who like to force their ideas on people. Anyway, you may well find the more you know, the less urgent your feelings towards vampires become. that's what happened to me.
Best wishes

I would have to say that I don't believe in vampires, but they do make it look very nice in the movies and the books. It all seems very good. If you have read a lot of good vampire books, would you mind giving some authors? I myself read a lot.

real or not vampires are always very interesting creatures. I have loved them since my childhood and will probably continue to do so forever. If vampires are not real then i really wouldnt be angry it is still nice to be able to curl up on the couch with a nice fictional vampire book in my hands. If they are real then it just gives me more reason to be interested in them and try to learn as much about them as possible

...and then perhaps write your own book? That's always a good outlet. :)

child, let me explain,
"Vampires" in the sense most people use it,
are not true,
i my self have lived as what you can call one for a long time,
the human mind is capable of many things, and if you know the right tricks to do with your mind, you can astound even yourself,
do not fixate on it, or you can become,
and vampire relationships arent romantic, unless everyone knows they are a vampire and hates them, and they still risk their lives for the love of their life, which doesnt happen,
but from what i have experienced, vampire love is a hell of a lot stronger (pun intended)
and it is ever lasting, even when you want to get over someone, years on they are still in your mind, and you still will feel love

You and I have started off on the wrong foot, somewhat, but I think that your above advice is very thoughtful MM.
A request though, it might be better if you try not to address people as 'child' some people might find it rather condescending.

thank you,
i tend to call people child because of my Martial Arts experience,
i have two advanced degrees in Kempo and Akido Karate, and i was at one time a class leader, so i was encharge of people, and we had to say commands in japanese, and the translation for student in english was Child, so i kind of got used to it, sorry,
and yeah we did get off on the wrong foot, and i would like to apologise, as you seem like a genuinely nice character, and i wouldnt mind being called your friend,
and hey, from the experiences i have had, i like to give advice and help, its what i do now anyway, i try and be the nice guy

thank you all for your comments they have somewhat helped me :-)
To Draquilas as for the vampire books i read, i take them out of a local library...
some are for children and others are for adults such as 'dracula' .I'm sure you'll
find something suitable.

It depends on the kind of book. I really got interested in reading vampire books after I saw Queen of the Damned, after the Anne Rice book, but i've always liked vamps, with my first exposure being Blade, I believe. I'd start with Anne, then possibly Mick Farren, then if you're in for romance, Christine Feehan. I have never met a real vampire, if there is such. I would mostly associate the term vampire to being things comparable to the fiction. Someone who drinks blood and has teeth mods doesn't make them a vamp in my book. I myself have just a shadow longer-than-normal kanines, but I don't think that makes me a vamp. After all, I don't drink blood.

The funny thing is that I have 2 Christine Feehan books, 3 Anne Rice as of today, and I have heard that Mick Farren is interesting. I'll probably go find some books by them.
And thank you NightsChild, I'll check out the local library.

Vampires.
There is so much human emotion involved and evolved with them that it almost becomes absurd. Yet, why not have that unpredictable spur of thoughts and confusing manner of a mortal when they encounter a vampire? Makes the first hunts all to exciting. In a story that is..
And I feel that with all things involving humans of the sort there will be that real and honest emotion that the vampire forcefully reveals in the one (or many) mortal(s) he is attracting. Or, you could call it a "mortal" romantic lure to lust and sex. Completely natural in my books. Real? Certainly.

I think most humans lust in some way, so yes, that is real, but some things about obsessions need to be noticed as not real, like vampires, they're not real.

:meow: Yes Anne is a good fiction writer. The unfortunate thing is that so many...including my self at one time...have been sucked into believing that her cleverly written fiction is more...and have framed their lives after it.
I just caution...be careful that when you are reading vampire, or any fiction...make sure that you do not let your mind turn it into fact.

Very true, if you pull yourself too far into a book, it can really disrupt your life style. I was once pulled away by a book like that, and I was very influenced. It still has a slight grip on me. But then again, I've grown up and I've realized that some things need to be let go. For one, a really influencing book, that may not have good influences.

I too am slightly obsessed with vampires. I love to learn everything I can about them. Almost everyone has things they love to do. It's natural. People would be boring without it. My dream would be to "become" a physical vampire. It's the only thing I can really see myself doing other than performing on stage etc. Normal, everyday life bores me. I would love to know if physical vampires truly existed. Anne Rice style vampires are extremely sensual. It's the whole idea of another, you could say, reality, joining with humans, which makes it so compelling to me. Everyone wants something from their life, I'd like mine to be long and adventurous in everything, including emotions and my existence in general. I want to have a meaning. :devilbook: xxx

i do have to admit that i've followed many different rules and stories of vampires for quite some time and they are definately one of my favourite things to right about. the are goths out there (much like myself  ) who will, at some point, go probably through a vampiristic stage and stick to it. not so much because the believe they ARE a vampire, but because the vampire ways, rules and emotions that are associated with them somewhat symbolise everything that the person is personally or it represents their complete emotional status, regardless of whether they're happy or glad.
vampires themselves, i personally believe exist. at this point it's questionable about the idea of immortality, but people who live for the land of night with supernatural-like desire with a thirst for even just a few mLs of blood could be considered actual vampires. further more, when and if considered properly, cannibals to an extent are vampiric because they live on the flesh of human beings and also drink their blood to accompany their flesh.
vampires are a symbolic thing for who we are and therefore i personally see them as real. besides, vampires on a whole are cool. believe it or not, i had a friend who actually made coffins for a living and as a joke, he gave me a coffin as a bed for one of my b'days a few years back. i actually use it though. it's quite comfortable. lol
