Following the link from NightVision's Thread I found This Site and specifically This Page which has all the Greek and Roman mythology you could want.

Technically this could go in Exchange, so instead lets make this thread about something I've always liked. Mythology in Classic Literature.

Not just mythology, that could go in Lore, but actually about how you find examples of it in literature.

Like, for instance, there is a lot of information on different creatures and people in "The Oddessy" Which is where we get a lot of our information on said creature.

I love greek mythology ^_^

Do you have a favorite Myth?

Mine is the Daedalus and Icarus wings of wax story. It kinda says to me that, even though something seems to be a good idea, it isn't always foolproof.

my favorite greek story is Illiad.

While I loved the Iliad, I would've liked it a lot better if it wasn't all about who killed who.

My favorite is Odysseia (I don't know to write it in English,sorry).It is the continue of Illiad

The Oddessy. It is very good.

the iliad and the odyssey are just two of the stories and since the trojan war has been proven to have happened, the iliad is less mythology now than it was before.
there are so many more stories though, stories about how the gods were born, how the stars came into existence, myths about flowers and animals, about Zeus's 'dicking around' and Hera's jealousy fits.

i used to read the stuff endlessly... being greek kinda helps hahah
haven't read any in years though and i kinda miss it because it's just pure entertainment reading through those stories.

Im gunna have to side with Bahahmut and say that my favorite greek myth is the one about Daedalus and Icarus and his wings of wax, i love its moral

The Iliad was okay...i found it a bit tiresome at times.
The Oddessy was great!

Oh and has anyone read the play Medea by Euripides? I loved it!!

i loved the Iliad and the Odyssey but,my favorite greek myth would have to be the story of Orpheus and Euridice

Pygmalion and Galatea. A musical, My Fair Lady, was written based on this legend where a sculptor falls in love with his creation, and the gods grant him his wish and makes the statue come alive.

I have a book telling all story's and beliefs about greek mythology, i know some of roman mythology as well. My fav story is also gotta be Iliad.
