No, I haven't submitted my art to any kind of competition or anything. Mostly cuz all my art is digital and most is some form of abstract.

"Walking to Loves Grave"
Way to go Dark Princess, planning on any more submissions?
I've submitted art work to competitions before, but it has been several years since I have. The last one was in '95 in a national art show held in Califonia called "Works of the Spirit" I managed to place in the top 80 out of roughly 250 accepted peices of work. This something I want to get back into, but life keeps getting in the way.

awww, I hope you do get back into it. Thants good that you were top 80 in a national contest. -claps- -YAY!!!-
Ive had more art win in contests but the art was destroyed :( . I'll put submitted more stuff when I find sumthin. I'm only 14 so i cant go out of state :P . I'll prolly find sumthin when school starts.
Sure you can submit work out of state. Go get you a copy of a good art magazine such as "American Artist" or "Art in America". In the back of the magazine there is a listing of shows you can enter. I've seen only one or two where you have to be present at the show itself. You send them your work, used to be on a slide, but now some places take work on disk. It just depends on the venue. The requirments are about the same for each show.

I have submitted my art to an prvincal art compitition where all the schools entered and the best works were sent to the next round. I was luckey enough to have my work go international and recieved 95% for it. I haven't posted a pic of that art work yet coz it's A3 and i can't scan it....it's a pencil sketch of Mother Theresa...
I didn't care much for the compitition, but i really cared aboput my picture...after entering the pic in, i moved to a different province, and let me tell you....it to SIX MONTHS to get my picture back....i nearly died!!

Um, I entered a 'save the animals' poster in a district competition when I was 10. I got 2nd place. Does that count?

Yes it does. Anything like that can be put on a resume.
