I disagree. To be a Necrophile one must have a sexual interest in The Dead, and true necrophiles get turned on by the trappings of death: putrefaction, morgues, embalming fluid (if you want to be clinical about it - Look up Nico Claux in your search engine). However, a vampire in the classical sense is UNdead, which according to Bram Stoker at least is a different category entirely.

to be a necrophile, you just have to screw a dead thing. same thing with a child molestor. interested in kiddies or not, ya rail a child, and you're a pedophile.

True... but is a Vampire a dead thing? That's more what I'm getting at. traditionally, they were often thought to be neither dead nor alive.

Eh...I think most people "traditionally" regarded vampires as an animated corpse.
It walks, it bites, and the body may have some sort of pseudo-life, but people still regarded said individual as dead.

yeah, from what i know, vampires are basically considered a soul stuck in a corpse. so, even though they do some life like functions, they're dead.

back to the topic at hand... I would have to agree that a vampire is niether dead nor alive, but in a transient state of animation so it wouldn't technically be necrophila, because technically they're not dead... but technically they're not alive either so technically it would be necrophila.
:vampire:
I say go with it.

Topic Cleaned. Please stay on topic. I'll remind you what it is....
"If you have sex with a vampire - are you having sex with a dead person?"
My question is this....seems that wouldn't make you a necrophiliac, but something else. I'm sure somebody around here knows a term for fucking monsters? Surely that's got to be in the list of strange sexual obsessions somewhere?

I think it would be Teratophilia.

Vampires transcend the barriers of life and death. They are no longer human, thus human lables no longer apply to them. Having sex with a vampire wouldn't be considered necrophilia as they are neither living or dead.

yeh it would make a mortal a necrophiliac because vampire are dead

I still say no. Also, Necrophilia as a clinical condition has various characteristics that sex with a vampire just wouldn't fulfill. I'm not going into detail just trust me it's pretty yucky.

i think its necrophilia still because i know vampires have most of the have more humanity etc but they are dead still, like glorified zombies.

 No... I highly doubt just because a human can have sex with a vampire it makes the human a necrophiliac.
By definition a necrophiliac is an "obsession with and usually erotic interest in or stimulation by corpses". But just because someone has sex with a vampire doesn't mean that the person had sex with the vampire just because they're body was technicially "dead". The human would have to be aroused be the fact that the body is dead.
And to get deeper into the subject, I think a vampire doesn't count... becausze a vampire is said to be the "living-dead". Necrophilia concerns a living person and a dead body... not a living person and a "living-dead" body.
