Even if you like sucking your own blood... I've never seen a vampire drinking its own blood, cos according with what I read it's not healthful to them.

Sorry, but I've read too much topics about people that like blood and ask if they're vampires (not just here), I like blood too and it doesn't make me one! :cofpap:

PS: Even those psychopats that kill and sometimes eat parts of their victms (unfortunatly there was some in our poor world) I dont think they're vamps... just psychotics.

As I said in the other post in Real vampires (where you could have posted this, by the way) it all depends on perception. is it really so difficult to see why people make the connection?

not at all, vampires -> blood, yeah i've got it, but just vampires know they're vampires and who is or who is not one by my sight.

Historically, many european and native cultures consumed blood....either by cooking it into food or eating raw meat or drinking it straight. Even in the bible, Christ says about drinking the wine, which is supposed to be his Blood transformed...There are countless references to the comsuming of blood in history. I do not think it makes one a vampire. I think the SOLE consumption of blood and no foods makes one a vampire of the traditional sense. Just my opinion.

Huns used to drink blood from their horses before stepping into a battle. They were certainly not vampires. I cannot agree more with you broken_guitar

it depends what you mean by vampire, because, accroding to some people, vampirism enables you to have heightened senses but there are also drawbacks, such as being allergic to the sun's light from drinking blood.

i don't suffer from vampirism even though i drink blood, so that doesn't make me a vampire.

but if you're not going on about vampirism than my bad.

i drink blood, my own and other poeples, but i don't think i'm a vampire, i like the idea of being one, but doubt i am one, yet my friends are stupid at this kind of talk and say i am vampire and a freak cos i like drinking blood, but they don't understand vampirism fully

Yes, I kind of get that too. i like blood, the taste and the colour. people joke about me being an actual vampire but noone really beleives it, not even me.

I guess it depends on your oppinion of a vampire in the end really. Me? I don't think that the supernatural vampire exists and i beleive that the modern day vampire or HLV ''needs'' blood to survive. They don't particulary like the taste of theirs or any other persons blood. It doesn't matter to them, only survival does.

Kind of like when you are ill and the doctor gives you medicine it might be acky or it might be nice but either way you need it to keep you alive. :popcorn:

in my leaving book i've got loads of people saying that i've got to stay a vampire and that vampires rock and so on... it's pretty obvious that not all of them understand the different types of vampire there are or really understand the people that they think are vampires.

i'm not really worried about being an 'outcast' because i've always been a bit of a loner anyway. people that say i'm a vampire all the time since they found out that i drink blood, but that doesn't make a difference to me ... just one more thing that makes me different from everyone else i spose.

HLV's do not need blood to survive any more than any other person living on this planet, quite the contrary in fact as it can actually be very bad for you to flood your digestive tract with blood. The whole blood-drinking is either an image thing, or an addiction to the act of drinking from someone else. There are no nutrients in blood that are needed by the human body, and certainly no addictive agent which anyone could become dependent on.

I find the question of addiction an interesting one: so much so I think I'll make a thread of it. Cheers Shadout!

Blood has power in the Human mind. I use it in art (drawn not the real thing.... yet... The bright red dulls so horribly when dry.) because of the power it can invoke. I also wear it splashed on the steel bell i wear simply because it pleases me to do so. I find it quite 'pretty' but otherwise don't consider myself to be Vampiric.

In the past ppl used blood as, well sort of a medicine. Since Blood sometimes symbloizes life ppl used it in many rituals to preseve it (life). :frankie:

After reading many topics thru this site, i am beginning to wonder what your veiws are what a vampire is? Everyone has their own idea, so please feel free to enlighten me, what is a vampire?
