Well.. I just started to meditate in my basement.. ( There was a lady who died in the basement) which i didnt know about untill just today...... but theres always this feeling that lurks right behind me and always trying to do somthing of the sort... and Finally today i got one of my friends to come over to my basement with me and meditate.. and she just ran away... assuming that the ghost or spirit scared her senseless... anything that I can do about this little devil of mine in the basement?

if this spirit is just an annoyance a verbal command usually works, telling it it can stay but only if it doesn't bother you or any one in the house.
if it doesn't leave or becomes more violent, you could do one of the following

1. Exorcise it

2. containe it "certain charms and such will bind a ghost to a single room or even object"

3. destroy it/weaken it. many methods exist but non are safe and some may attract or require the use of another spirit "last resort only really for dealing with demons of the higher violent nature"

For the short term (a temporary solution while you are in the room) I'm told that simply burning a candle or candles with intent will help remove a bothersome but harmless sort of spirit.

Blue candles are usually for protection against spirits, though if you're not set on the color codes, any candle will do, as long as your intent is true. I'd also advice shielding yourself, there is a rather long thread here somewhere called 'Shielding 101'.

You'll have to determine why you want this spirit to leave, if she's normally no trouble, it might be just as good to find another room to meditate in. I'm not an expert on banishing, and everything depends on your way of doing things, but if you are religious, look for excorcism spells. If you're not, excorcism wouldn't help you much, since the words, and the prayers, would mean squat to you personally. You have to believe in what you do.

If you follow any specific pantheon, search for banishing spells and/or warding spells they have. If you do things your own way, read up on banishing, and create your own way, inspired by them. It's always best to use your own spells.

Warding off the basement, if that is her base, and you decide to leave her there, would be a good idea, set wards on the rest of the house as well, to ensure she doesn't follow you up, and nothing else comes in. A thorough cleansing of your house would be in order. (always nice with a little spring cleaning, as well).

Let us know how you usually work, and we'll help you out with ideas. :)

Sprinkling salt is very cleansing.

I don't know that much about spirits, but what I do know is, the more receptive to them you are, the more easily they can get in. If for example you were inclined to dismiss this presence as a trick of the mind - and believe it - it is quite likely it wouldn't bother you again. That's my theory.

Yea thats what I thought for a moment at first.. but then.. I thought mise well just have fun and at least try to trick myself to thinking that theres some sort of spirit in my basement.. but then I figured out that there acually is a spirit in my basement.. Go Figure...

I am personally very territorial and banished the ghosts from each house I lived in, and did general cleansings just to be safe. but I always felt a house is a place to live, the dead should stay out. although their are incense and such you should be carefull with those as some can cause allergic reaction with the smoke.
Sage usually does the trick for ridding a home of bad vibes,you would need to use what ever fits you for a proper exorcism, but
a question: just how troublsome is this ghost?, if its not that much trouble than why bother with such a pathedic thing, I get rid of all of them because its my home not theirs, but not every one might feel this way, and generally some say if its not causeing any trouble than leave it be.

I will add that it would be good to put protection runes in each corner if you start feeling threatened yourself. You can also put warding runes in the corners and always draw your circle before you meditate. I would also say to decrease activity in your basement and just leave her alone, but if the only spot that you can meditate peacefully is there, then just do the above things.

Yes. I've had something actually seemingly follow me around the internet. First it started a few months before something happened - something rather major - but before that, I was just essentially minding my own business (well, mostly...). The way they would talk, very out of place. Everyone else would think they were joking, crazy, etc. because the place was not one where the type of things they said was normally discussed (at least not in that way). But I knew because of their timing and what they said (etc) that there was more. Hard to explain.

Many possibilities. Likley they were a real person but became some sort of medium either willingly or unwillingly (possession?) - so I suppose it does not count - but odd that they knew where to find me, no? but I do not really know for sure - they might not have even really existed at all as a physical entity for all I could tell. They deliberatley spoke in a symbolic encoded form - deliberately mysterious. I have a few thousand messages from this "person". Actually I kind of worry about them. I haven't heard form them in a over a year now that I recognize.

Of course, to 99.5% of the board, I am now nuts, but hey, to the the .5% that know, good to see you in existence out there, to the 10% that are iffy and practice any sort of magickal art, etc - take my word for it - don't be surprised if it happens. really - I tell you the truth.

the ting in the basement dos not seem to be a problem but it looks like you are drowing the intrest of it when you meditate.

your frend can have trayd to contakt it and that was somting it did not like or contakt was made and the info from the ghost was too mutch.

ther is one tings if you tray to get rid of the ghost do not fail...
it can retaliate...

Okay, just b/c a spirit creeps you out, does NOT make it a bad spirit.
Just say, ' Um .. Hi!', be curteous, ask it if theres anything you can do
for it, and be NICE! Try not to get totally freaked out. I know this sounds
like a movie we've all seen, but when I was a little kid, I was kinda creepy,
and a lot of my play mates were ghosts. They were nice to me, though, and
if they do/did something mean, I just said, ' Hey! What was that for?' and laugh
it off. That's my only advice. ^^^

Cyber-Stalker: all they need is your isp and they can follow you to any where you go on the net, if you think this might be a threat report it to your internet provider and the authorities because if they can follow you you can follow them and catch them.

Since I was a little girl, I guess you could say spirits have been "attracted" to me...yea, it sounds corny and totally "Sixth Sensish". When I was little, I would see them in my room, night or day, or see them following me around, and it never bothered me until I got a little older and then I got some evil spirits following me around. However, I'm a firm believer in God so all I did was pray, and ask that my home, my family, and I be protected from this demon, and after that, I was never bothered again. But every now and then, I get that "feeling..."

Anyway, I will stop ranting and get to my point. I don't know if you believe in God or not, but if this spirit is really bothering your meditative practices, you should consider praying, or just simply tell it to go away...Maybe even an excorcism if it gets really bothersome.

Well, heheh. Oh boy. Ummm.. I thought about that. But back then (I do not do this now - lol), I was quite paranoid and tended to keep a considerable level of security. The place where this happened, sometimes things got ugly there between people so I knew to keep my guard up. I had a (dedicated linux computer) firewall setup and then routed internet traffic through a encrypted proxy on a remote server that I controlled (ssh tunneling), from there it was decrypted and sent to one more proxy on a network I did not control. This proxy was changed on average every week and I would daily test the headers (even the user agent and the referrer were set to lie) to be sure they were masking my information. The result was that my real IP never showed up on the external sites. I forgot also around this time I never used any registered accounts - I just used shared accounts at this place where anywhere from 20 - 100 people did the same each day. It would be like 20 users posting as "Anonymous" using anonymous proxies here on this forum who did not want to be found.

Not saying it is impossible. But believe me, I gave it much consideration. There was no way they should have known all that they did - the things which they knew, no way. No way. It wasn't just about me either. I'll leave it at that.

For being a threat, at first when I noticed this I thought so given what was occuring at the time. But then they knew something about what I needed answers to and was quite curious about (there was no where else to get the answers it seemed) - so what do you do? :lol: Anyway this was a few years ago and I actually worry about them more than I worry about myself. This will sound funny, but they actually claim wilder things are happening to them. Could be lies, whatever, who knows really. I doubt it though. They actually claimed they were being stalked by people.

Regardless, They did not do anything directly malicious to me looking back- I think they were trying to help. Maybe get a few things to go the way they wanted also, etc. Not really *sure* yet. Thanks for the help though on being stalked, I appreciate that you would help like that though. Very good of you. :)
