Full Version: Always Miserable?

I've often thought that if Vampires were real, they might be like people in that you can't claim them to be all good or all bad. Everyone is different.
1. Do you think it would be the same with vampires? Some good, some bad?
2. What is the likelyhood of having vampires with consciences?
3. Would they all be inevitably in love with being depressed, lonely, and miserable?
I don't believe that would be the case, but let me know what the rest of you think...
Saturn9
Well I'm sure most of them would complain that they're "misunderstood", that modern society isnt welcoming to their kind.

well personaly im always dark and gloomy just from being me. I like black clothes and bands like mushroomhead and mudvayne so i guess i would be pretty dark. People mostly avoid me so i dont reall talk very much to people because they think i will like turn them into a frog or som thing. God damn i wish i could though. Plus i always have my pentagram around my neck so that just scares the crap out of those prepy ass bitches.

IF Vampires were real, they would probably have different personalities just as humans do. Some would be good (depends of definition of good), and some woud be bad (evil). I guess they'd have their good days and their bad, just like everything else. ^_^

mellow.gif mellow.gif Sounds to me like your trying to push people away, people are nothing to be afraid of,most of them are just as lost and as lonely as you or i,the important thing is not to run and hide lifes to short .

Personally, I think vampires are misunderstood. All those movies make them look evil, mean, vicious. But, in fact, vampires are just like everybody else.

go read an actual medeval manuscript about vampires, the movies are practically compliments compared what people were actually afraid of.

Well it would depend on what kind of vampires we are talking about. if we are talking about the more 'humanistic' kind, such as they have evolved into these days, then yeah, i suspect that they would be like the human population. some good, some bad. i mean, they'd all have minds of their own, wouldn't they?
of course if we are speaking of the older versions of vampires, from the earliest folklore tales, then...they'd just be mindless, bloodthirsty killers without a mind, or soul. woulnd't really feel any emotion whatsoever...

Honestly, just because you never see them in the light, just because they wear dark clothes to blend into the night(all hypothetical of course) does not mean that they are miserable at all. I know that if I could have my run of the city at night, if I could act like god in deciding who lives and who dies, I would be happy. I think it would be somewhat of a happy ego trip! banana.gif

I think that today vampires would have emotions.
They cannot live and survive in this world without having some form of structure otherwise we would have heard of them more regularly

I don't see how wearing a pentacle would scare people, most just go 'dam satanist' no matter what star you wore, I've yet to find a 'normal' person who can tell the difference between the star of david, a pentegram and an inverted pentegram. 2guns.gif
I can't see any reason why vampires would be any different from humans personnality wise like someone stated earlier. Although they will have different views from us as they lead a different lifestyle.

Uh...one has six points, the other two have five?

Out of the other two, one points up, one points down?

Yes I do, although vampires are different to the human race they are not a totally different species.

Well they are shown to have no conscience in movies, but i guess as a conscience is learnt from the environment, then I guess they would have a conscience yes.

No I don't think they would be in particularly. I think they would maybe moan about life and the way it leads you, the same way any human would.

I honestly think vampires would retain many of their human emotions - happiness, sorrow, anger, lust - all positive and negative emotions. It would be silly for all vampires to be mopey and brooding all the time. I think that, just like everyone else, they'd have their different moods. It's a nasty stereotype given to vampires, even in literature and movies. How boring would it be to be depressed all the time? And it would be really silly to be in love with depression and misery. Those who don't actually suffer from real forms of depression should be very thankful. I wouldn't wish for it. No one should try to be depressed. Being gloomy is becoming very passe. So for all vampires to be dark and wretched like that, it would be boring. I think they'd be full of many different emotions and not in love with being all sad and grievous.

Haha... yes, many people ("uneducated" folks, I say) have difficulty telling the star of david from the pentagram. Except for my old choir teacher, who spent 13 years in Israel and had to put up with a few Wiccans in choir who drew pentagrams (and other symbols) on their desks and chairs. (I wasn't one of them - not a Wiccan.)
