Is there anyway that someone can become a vampire, without being bit, or being born a vampire?...Or can you be born a vampire somehow if you're parentals aren't of vampire? Can something be passed in your blood through your family for ages perhaps? Or...i just don't know. Can someone have vampire traits? Please, any information would be helpful.
Talking about vampire traits, I don't even know if these are vampire traits, but I have this friend. He has had four pairs of VERY sharp vampire looking teeth. It's like he gets a new set every year. Also, he loves the taste of blood and actually finds himself craving it. He says that sometimes when he sees someone bleeding or playing with an open wound, he feels his whole body start pulsating and has an urge to drink.....so yeah, any information is more than helpful

You are either born one or you aren't. Psivampirism, from my experience, is often hereditary. I can't speak for the sanguine vampires though. But from what I've heard, it is as well.
As for your friend, he could be a human living vampire (HLV). Or, as Azrael said, maybe just a creepy kid with a blood fetish and pointy teeth.

Jalo, my dear - look to the bottom of the page, and you'll see a lil box that lets you navigate around the forum. There's a search function to be found there, and it's most useful. If you'll try that before posting any more topics, I promise the mischievious elves here will leave you alone, for a while, anyway.
Also, I'm making it official, you're being adopted by me for a while. Meaning if you have any questions about the site, or whatever, just direct them to me, either here in this thread, or email me at nemesischylde@cox.net.
The rest of you!! Leave my noob alone! :D I think he might have some potential.

Getting back to the topic at hand, I've been having some thoughts, and actually, in mythology, there are other ways of becoming a vampire: For example, it was thought that Suicides would automatically become Vampires. Until relatively recently in this country alone, suicides were buried at crossroads with heaps of stones over them. The crossroads idea was to confuse them when they got past the rocks...
I remember also reading something about being a seventh son of a seventh son (how sexist).

You are absolutely correct. Does anyone know where this myth came from? I'm too lazy to do research right now, but if none is posted by tomorrow, I'll jump on it. (family stuff to do today)

It's to do with Damnation of the Soul.
If, as according to the the Bible 'the body is a temple', destroying that temple is a big Sin, and you are Damned.
If you are Damned, then evil demons can getcha and you can become a demon or vampire.
It's such a relief to know the Church and the Law have revised their opinions on this: suicide is no longer illegal, at least. It's a great incentive not to kill yourself, isn't it?

Suicide is illegal in the U.S. as well...well, if you don't succeed, I guess.
And I guess I'm adopted now?....hmm.... <_<

Now, I'm not sure where I heard this, so yes, Dreams of Death you may be correct, but I believe the law on it was changed for various reasons:
It is, as with the death penalty for treason, either no longer enforced, on the grounds that a suicidal person is ill rather than bad.
or
It falls within the Right To Privacy/respect for private life clause in law - from the Human Rights convention of October 2000.
The support group The Samaritans state in their literature that they do actually respect a person's right to take their own life - there is no way they'd be allowed to say this if it were illegal.
It is, however, illegal to assist someone in a suicide - something which is being debated as we speak by various pressure groups.

I know that in the U.S. if a person attempts suicide, meaning they fail...they are arrested. A sentence in accordance with a mental hospital or psychological help/assistance is rarely dealt.

I never really thought about the legalisation of suiside, but I think the majority of the time. If some one attempts suicide, meaning they fail, then they have to seek mental help.
As far as I knew it was still illegal although people can not be arrested as such for attempting it. Only they are encouraged to seek mental help.

Sarah(shadow) > I too have heard that idea. Something to do with Christianity, brought on by Christianity I would have thought.
Anyway, in reply to the source....
I would have thought that there would be another way to become a vampire rather just being bitten. I guess something could be passed on through genes and skip a few generations. Alike to twins that usually skip a generation. Or even more unusual, A family with pale skin for generations giving birth to a kid with a very dark shade of skin. This is possible if somewhere in the family tree some one had darker skin, but still very unusual. Alike to if somewhere in the family there has been a vampyre, then maybe this could also be possible to be carried within the genes and skip a couple of generations.
As for your friend he could be an HLV or he could just have a blood fetish.

Eh, does that mean every year more and more of his teeth have become sharp and thus having more than four teeth in his mouth being sharp? If so then that is beyond bizaar and doesn't sound overly traditional vampyric..more like lycan or something.
But perhaps it's just fake teeth and getting a new set.
