For me, tis Anne Rice's vampyres. I like the whole asthetic/beauty/love thing. I know, I'm a sick romantic.

Anne Rice's vampires. Not that vampires exist, but if they did I think they would be like these.
Pure Vampyric Evil
I'd say Lestat is quite a mysterious figure.

ok lestat can be quite mysterious but compared to the dracula kind of vampires he is alot more out in the open well thats what i think.

For me personally it's both the classical and the more modern portrayals of vampires that get my blood going, so to speak. Anne Rice seems to have captured the effects of both very well, which greatly appeals to my romantic nature. It's the entertainment industry that tends to spoil everything because of their completely modernised version of everything. Sure, it's evolution, but not necessarily the best.

I love the way Anne Rice captured the frightening beauty and sickening love of Lestat in her book Interview With The Vampire but I can also say that I love the more modernised version of Lestat in the movie The Queen of the Damned. Both versions contain a certain poignancy that tears at one's heartstrings - mine especially. In Interview with the Vampire Lestat was afraid to go out into the world in the end because of its evolution, but in The Queen of the Damned Lestat rejoices in the evolution and takes part in it! He himself evolves.

So no, I really can't choose between the classical or the modern version. You'd have to be more specific for me to choose one of them because just saying 'classical' or 'modern' isn't saying much, it's too broad a spectrum.
Draquilas
Dracula because he is fine wether is old or 4 years old. Vampires are always fine. Fine meaning hot and all.
Pure Vampyric Evil
Silly me forgot to answer the actual question of the post; I'd have to say modern vampyres also for the reason of beauty, grace, lust and sometimes love and overall supremacey. Although classics are great as well, in the terms of Hollywood classics..they are just as gorgeous and vibrant. Soo unless classic truly means the more Nosferatu looking vampires.. I could do without those ugly buggers.
